About Upcountry Photographic Society
The Upcountry Photographic Society of Sri Lanka was founded in 1969 by Mr. D.G. Ranathunga, with the aim of promoting photography as an art form and as a means of communication. The society is located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, and is open to anyone who has an interest in photography. Over the years, the society has grown to become one of the most prominent photography clubs in Sri Lanka, and has played an important role in promoting photography in the country. The society organizes regular meetings, workshops, exhibitions, and competitions, and provides a platform for photographers to share their work and exchange ideas. The society also has a strong commitment to promoting the use of photography for social and environmental causes, and has collaborated with various organizations on a number of projects.
